Cricut Monster Birthday Card

Most people have looked at a big puffy cloud and have imagined the outline of a figure of some kind. Maybe you saw a fish, or old man face, horse, or whatever. I think we've all had that experience.

In a likewise kind of way, I was flipping through Cricut Craft room images and saw this:

Now it's not like me to have too much imagination. I'm a straight forward type of person. If it's a butterfly on the card I'm making, it has to look like a butterfly. It's taken me some time to really discover that we can match stripes and plaids (contrary to what Mom taught us) and not everything has to look like a photograph. Now back to the image.

So I decided this was a face. You can see the ears, right? But I asked myself, "If I were to do a little paper piecing, what could I do with this face?"

Then it dawned on me. Once I had the face I welded various images together for torso, arms and shirt. The pants actually came from the First Few Years Cricut Cartridge. I just used the shadow image and filled in the rest with a white gel pen.

Well, I won't keep you in suspense any longer. This is what I came up with. I had a cute little smiley face stamp in the stash and some individual letter stamps. On the inside I stamped, "Hope you have a day full of FUN." Could be the Hulk if he wasn't so friendly looking.

That's it for today. Feel free to stay around and look at some of the other fun stuff on the blog, but if not, I hope you have a great rest of the week and we'll see you next time!
